Why a Pitch Competition for animation aimed at an adult audience?

The Pitch Competition (PITCHIN’ 2024) is ment to bring animation filmmakers and professionals in the danish animation ind-ustry together, and benefit all attendees whether it is as a participant in the comp-etition, a producer or as an audience member to the pitches themselves. PITCHIN’ 2024 is unique among national pitch competitions with its dedicated focus on animation for adults, which VAF and Danish Film Directors believe is crucial to support future animated successes on the big screen.

FAQ about Pithcin’ 2025

Please find answers to the most FAQ about Pitchin’ below.

Anyone with any background can apply. We accept international applicants but there needs to be a Danish element connected to the production* (See below)

For the pitch to be eligible for submission, the production has to have either a Danish director, writer or producer attached to the project. The production/idea also has to be intended for a Danish audience.
‘Content aimed at an adult audience’ generally means, that the project has to have relevance for a audult/mature audience.

It does not refer to any specific film rating (PG-13, R, NC-17 etc.) nor does it refer to any specific adult themes or crude humor.

You can apply with your pitch deck through the submission portal.

  • You will do a 7 minute pitch followed by 5 minutes of feedback and questions from a jury.
  • The pitch has to be done in English
  • The pitch will take place in front of a live audience.
  • You have to bring your own computer with slides (or agree with the festival to send the slides in advance).
