It’s for everyone, and it’s free, so come, bring your friends and family, and be part of a world of games!
Games are more than just entertainment. They are creative, challenging, competitive, playful and fun. PC, console, board games, cards, VR, retro, Esport; everything is at play when Viborg Animation Festival invites to Viborg Game Expo 2019.
Meet Game Developers:
Do you have a game developer in you? Developers from near and far are coming to show what they’re working on. Visitors can come and play and talk with the developers. Come and visit Galdra Studios, Unit Zero Studios, Play Doktor, Vizlab, Clear Cut Games, Event Games, Fat Fox, meet students from the VIA Software Engineering AR/VR education, and many more.
See live E-sports finals:
Be part of the crowning on the first VGE Masters – Viborg Game Expo’s E-sports-champions.
Shooters: Come and see local pros face each other in the hyper-competitive CS:GO, when Aces Esport invites to finals on Saturday the 28th of September. Follow Aces Esport at facebook, twitter, and Instagram for more info.
Fighters: In collaboration with FGC Aarhus, we’re hosting Tekken World Tour and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Competitive Classic: Be quick, as NesBozz invites to Bomberman-tournament Sunday the 29th of September from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Build your own world in VR:
Thursday, you and your kids are invited to come and play with the creative VR tool Stampede.
Stampede is a brand new toolset for creating art together in VR (Virtual Reality), for all ages. These mini-workshops will run throughout the whole exhibition day, and allow up to 3 visitors to enter Virtual Reality simultaneously and create art together.
Participants will be guided by veteran VR artist and animator Joe Daniels, who’ll work with them hands-on to generate ideas, show what’s possible, and help them realize their dreams.
Each session lasts approximately 30 minutes and no signup is required. Visitors are encouraged to just queue, and meanwhile, get inspired by witnessing what is currently being made while they wait for their turn.
Shark Gaming is bringing the VR-bus:
You’ll have the opportunity to go completely VR-crazy, when Shark Gaming parks their epic VR-bus outside Viborg Game Expo.

The retro-lounge is back:
Sit down and relax with old arcade classics from back in the day. NESBOZZ is setting up his retro-lounge, where you can experience classic games from the ’80s and ’90s (for all ages, Friday, Saturday and Sunday).
Creative exploration of technology for kids and teens:
Local coding pirates-clubs in the region are opening up their monthly club night for everyone on CREATE-day Thursday the 26th of September, so that everyone visiting the VGE can see and learn what it takes to be a coding pirate. If you want to play with technology yourself, visit the pirates all day on RECREATE-day Sunday the 29th of September from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Coding Pirates is an organization working to develop kids and teens between 7 and 17 technological courage by focusing on technological imagination, ingenuity, and craftsmanship.
Trash-art and plastic medals:
The theme for Viborg Animation Festival is “Human Impact”. The environmental crisis is the ‘final boss’ of our time and that’s why Viborg Game Expo this year is putting sustainability on the agenda, with a playful approach to climate activism. VGE has teamed up with GivingBack to make trash-art and medals out of recycled plastic.
