This year was quite spectacular to French animation in terms of the Oscars – two out of five of the Animated Shorts nominees were of French origin, and at VAF you can experience both of them.

Negative Space is a poetic story about a boy, who tries hard to win his father’s recognition. The film explores a quite unusual father-and-son-relationship unfolding in the ritual of packing the perfect suitcase for the father’s frequent business trips.

We are also very happy to be screening Garden Party – the 2016 student film about a tribe of amphibians exploring the leftovers of an extravagant garden party.
