Réka Bucsi (born 1988) is Hungarian and earned her degree from Moholy Nagy University of Arts and Design in Budapest.
Her graduation film, ‘Symphony no. 42’, was shortlisted for an Oscar at the Academy Awards in 2014. Her films have been screened at big festivals such as Berlinale, SXSW and Sundance, and she has won over 50 international awards. Réka is very inspired by the world surrounding her; people, animals, nature, music and films. Her style is unique and peculiar and her films are often a commentary on modern-day society.
As VAF Artist of the Year, Réka has designed 5 postcards, posters and also this year’s VAF trailer. In addition, you will be able to see her pictures on gables and walls in Viborg.
Réka’s newest film, ‘Love’, will screen during VAF on September 29 at 21.00 in the programme “Short Films for Adults”.
